You've come to the right place. I can get you set up quickly with a web site tailored to meet your specific needs. If you want or need it, I also provide web hosting services and as a bonus, any web site I host includes one top level domain name at no extra cost.
What About On-going Maintenance?
Good question - and a very important aspect of any good web site. I do that too and I understand that reaching me when you need changes is critical to your success. Not only will I make you a great web site, I'll help you manage it as well.
You get to control the content by sending me email updates of what you want done. I turn these into organized web content. Most changes can be turned around the same or next business day. Following the initial site set-up (see below), on-going maintenance is charged at $20 per hour and billed at the end of each month.
Can You Help Me with Graphics?
No problem. I can reproduce any hard copy documents or objects you may have from photographs to paintings or even three dimensional artwork and I will optimize your graphics so your pages look good and open quickly.
As a digital photographer and web site designer, I understand the intricacies of using, creating and optimizing graphics in web presentations.
Proper use of web graphics is essential. For instance, wherever possible, words should be used instead of pictures of words. Making the right decisions about web graphics is one of the most critical elements in successful web site design.
Poorly designed graphics can and will turn your customers away from your site. Slow loading pages are intolerable and animated graphics and unnecessary flash elements should be banished altogether. Every element placed on your web site should be chosen judiciously to insure the best user experience possible.
How Much Will It Cost?
Prices for creating a new web site will normally range from $500 to $2000 or more depending on the complexity of the site and the number of hours it takes to create it. Most sites can be built in the lower end of that range. I will let you know before we get started if your site is headed for higher than normal amounts of development time and cost.
Draft sites can often become active within a day or two of the initial consultation. I will work with you to prepare content, giving you the option to do as little or as much copy editing and graphics preparation as your time, experience and budget considerations permit. Your initial consultation is FREE with no obligation to proceed if you don't want to.
My web design services include content preparation, organization and implementation, correcting the initial draft and search engine optimization.
Additional services I can provide but which are not included in the standard set-up charge include product photography and web hosting services.
What about Web Hosting?
Web hosting is optional, but I believe I provide great value in web hosting with as much server space and email functionality as you are likely to need PLUS your very own top level domain name, ALL for only $100 Canadian per year.
Where Do I Start?
Good web design starts with knowing what you want to say and who your audience will be. Sites should be content driven and address any usability issues faced by your intended audience.
Knowing what you want from the outset will greatly assist the design process and move your project quickly and smoothly from concept to reality. Mid-course corrections are often inevitable, however starting over again and again can become both frustrating and costly.
